It's been a while...
Like most adult Christmas Presents, mine from my husband came early this year. Wrapped unassumingly in an Amazon box, it's contents to me well known. I contemplated waiting until December 25th but my fingers were itching. I needed to have a reason to write in this exciting time of my life.
Here I am, Lord! Here I am! I unceremoniously ripped open the box and fired up the little computer on which I type. Just so eager to get started on what I think is going to be a most excellent adventure. Following God's voice to stretch my talents again and invest in the things that I have neglected for far too long.
On this very cold and icky December day in 2019 I logged into my blogger account and made a stark realization, I haven't written anything of substance for four years! Almost to the day on the blog I kept religiously while I was running. The last being December 2015 after my good friend was in a horrible car accident. I never take dates as a coincidence in God's timing. What they mean at this point is not necessarily unclear. Just a confirmation of things coming full circle back to where my good things began.
As I often do when those things start connecting, firing rapidly in my brain of images of what was taking place in my life in December and early in the year of 2016. Change. Just as I'm experiencing now, and really the beginning of my journey to the here. My last harrah, if you will, in California. When the cracks of things began to show. Is this where I should start? Where I left off?
December 2015 looked so promising. I had just been promoted at work. My hand was healing wonderfully from my own horseback riding accident. I was planning a trip to New York City with my little boy. My husband, no not THAT husband, wasn't too excited about either the promotion nor the trip to New York City. But we shouldn't give glory to the things of Satan.
I had started going back to church. Slowly and cautiously dipping my toes back into the tide that would whisk me off in a whirlwind a few years later. Through an actual blizzard! Just me following God's call to go home. With my children. With my pets. Then these last almost two years of transition. All culminating in this week where I'm on the launching pad to the next big thing in my life.
Ends wrapped up from California, safely ensconced in my chosen career field. Stable. Happy. Above all, ready.
